And that's a wrap

Hey, since I recently deleted Facebook, this space can be used to store my annual reading charts, huzzah!  Let's see what I've been up to.

2019 Reads By Genre

2019 Reads By Format

2019 Re-Reads

So per usual, I read a lot of fantasy, but I am trying to branch out my genres.  Failed at reading more new material, and stayed about the same on listening verses reading, but that's the nature of an office job.  Need my eyes for work, and whatnot.

I want to read more things off my TBR (I do NOT say, clear it up, because the dirty little secret about the TBR is that it never shrinks.  There're always more things to read), which makes book resolutions like the standard one on GoodReads largely moot for my purposes.  I read plenty, I don't need to keep track of the number.  Which reminds me...  And no, I don't use GoodReads for re-reads, so that number is strictly new reads.

People ask me what I use to keep track of my reading, and it's not a glamorous app or anything, it's literally just a Google Sheet.  I started keeping track of them that way to try and keep up with how to use spreadsheets (that's something I didn't have enough day to day experience with in my job at the time, and I didn't want to lose those skills).  Here's how it looks:

And since Sheets has an app on the smartphone, it's easy enough to keep up to date.  Ideally, I would have an app (hey developers, get on that) that feeds from multiple sources to keep track.  Because yeah, I get lazy and sometimes towards the end of the year just end up scrolling up from Audible (and Hoopla, and Libby) going, "Wait, didn't I read things between these two titles?  Yes?" and then having to scramble and put them in the list.

Anyway, that's me.  Here's to more reading!
